PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE A MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION LOCATED AT TEWANTIN Telstra plans to upgrade an existing telecommunications facility located at 46 Cooroy Noosa Road, Tewantin QLD 4565 (Lot 41 on MCH5489). 1. The proposed facility consists of removing three (3) panel antennas (2.26m long) and installing three (3) new panel antennas (1.33m long) at a centreline elevation of 30m on the existing 30m high monopole. Six (6) Remote Radio Units (RRUs) are also proposed to be installed as close to the antennas as possible. Any electronic equipment associated with the proposed installation would be housed inside the existing Telstra equipment hut located at the base of the facility. 2. Telstra regards the proposed installation as a Low-impact Facility under the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 1997 ("The Determination") based on the description above. 3. The proposed facility consists of the upgrade and consolidation of telecommunication infrastructure including the removal of existing panel antennas; the installation of (6) six outrigger frames and associated antenna supports; the installation of (6) six panel antennas; the installation of 6 Remote Radio Units; the installation of 9 Masthead Amplifiers; and the installation of associated ancillary equipment and works. 2. Lexis English College will be hosting Junior Students (15 - 17 years of age) through July -August 2012. These students will be having lessons at venues in the Peregian area. Families are required to drop off and pick up students each day except for the weekends. If you feel you are able to offer one of these students a friendly and caring environment, in return you will receive a unique and rewarding cross- cultural experience for your whole family. You need to provide the student with their own bedroom, 3 meals a day and the required transportation to and from the place of study Monday through to Friday (car pooling will be available to assist with this).
