LEGENDARY Australian singer-songwriter Daryl Braithwaite is returning to Caboolture Sports Club for an exclusive free show on Friday, September 30.
Joined by his full band - Geoff Wells on guitar/vocals, John Corniola on drums, Mark Amato on keyboard/ bass/vocals and David Campbell on acoustic guitar/vocals - the show will feature a musical journey through Braithwaite's career, which spans more than 30 years.
Group marketing manager Matt Rafton said the club was delighted to welcome back a legend of the Australian music industry.
"Daryl first performed at the club back in 2009 and was a huge hit with members,” he said.
"Since this time, I've been lucky enough to see Daryl performing live on two occasions and he continues to get better with age.
"He still gives 100% each performance, brilliantly combining his new material with the classics from his early days in Sherbet and hits from his solo career.”
Daryl first rose to fame in the 1970s with one of Australia's most successful bands, Sherbert. The group released 20 consecutive hit singles, including Howzat and Summer Love.
After Sherbet's demise, Daryl didn't return to music until 1988, when he launched his solo career with the album Edge, which netted him four hit singles, including As the Days Go By.
This success was replicated with his next album, Rise, and his second number one selling single, The Horses.
This year, The Horses celebrated its 25th anniversary of reaching number one on the ARIA singles chart.
Since then, Daryl and his live band have been selling out pubs and clubs in every corner of the country.
The free show starts at 7.30pm with support act Amos Pella, followed by Daryl Braithwaite and his band and a DJ till late. Visit www.cabsports.com.au or phone 5497 9711 for details.
