GUITARIST Dan Boulton has rubbed shoulders with some of the music industry's elite in the United States and now he's back wowing audiences on the Fraser Coast.

The 16-year-old Urangan High School student will provide the soundtrack when Gatakers by Night returns to the Gatakers Artspace courtyard in Maryborough on Saturday, January 26, from 5pm - 9pm.

In addition to fantastic live music,George Seymour, councillor for community, cultural and family services, said guests would also be able to enjoy live art displays and exhibitions from local and visiting artists.

"Three exhibitions will actually close following the event so it's the last chance to get along and see some fantastic artwork," he said.

The exhibitions are Reflections by Maggie McLeod, George Kirk's A Retrospective, and Through Emerald Eyes by Zela Bissett and others.

Night tours will also be available, including the Military Museum's Night at the Museum Tour, along with light refreshments.

"Maryborough has a very rich history, particularly the Portside Precinct, and these events help bring it to life," Mr Seymour said.

Tourism and regional marketing portfolio councillor Stuart Taylor said Gatakers by Night was fast becoming one of the signature events of the Fraser Coast.

"It's the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and delicious food including wood-fired pizza in a chilled-out, intimate setting," he said.

"There is something for guests of all ages, from arts and crafts to live music and historic tours and I encourage people to come and check it out for themselves."

Fraser Coast Regional Council hosts Gatakers by Night on the last full weekend of every month and admission is free.
