GYMPIE'S Anastasia Potter has been named the face of International Fashion Week 2013.

Anastasia has walked for International Fashion Week in both 2011 and 2012 and will now be the face you see on all of the key images representing the event locally, nationally and internationally.

International Fashion Week director Jacinta Richmond said Anastasia was a great role model and a great model.

"A healthy body image, reliable, a great work ethic and a lovely young woman, she will be a wonderful mentor to up-and-coming models and a great spokesperson for the event," Ms Richmond said.

Anastasia's response was nothing short of enthusiastic when she was asked to fulfil this coveted role.

"Oh my God! Yes! Yes! Yes!" was the initial response, shortly followed by, "Mum is having a heart attack and crying. Thank you so much".

"We still aren't sure if Anastasia was thanking us for giving her mum a heart attack or for the opportunity," Ms Richmond laughed.

"We are hoping for the latter."

Anastasia's role as "the face" includes shooting with renown fashion photographer Paul Fletcher, mentoring new models to the International Fashion Week family, representing the brand in all areas of media, public and personal life, and walking for the majority of labels showing at International Fashion Week.

International Fashion Week is being held September 12-14 at Palmer Coolum Resort on the Sunshine Coast.
