True Blood creator in Brisbane on tour

IT doesn't scream southern gothic but True Blood creator Charlaine Harris still believes she could find some blood suckers lurking in the shadows of Australia.

Speaking to brisbanetimes.com.au during her tour of the country this week, the author of the popular Sookie Stackhouse vampire series said she had thought about setting a story overseas and our homeland could be a likely candidate.

"I think Australia has got its own dangerous vibe that is very attractive," she said.

Last night, Harris took part in a question and answer session with fans of the series at Event Cinemas.

Harris told brisbanetimes.com.au that the presence of Australian actor Ryan Kwanten in the HBO televison program based on her series certainly added to local fans' appreciation of her work.
