A ROCKHAMPTON women has died after her car and a B-double truck collided along the Bruce Hwy at Ambrose yesterday afternoon.

Emergency Services were called to the scene around 11.55am when the vehicles collided between Mt Larcom and Marmor.

The 59-year old female driver was pronounced dead at the scene, with the 21-year old male driver of the truck and 55-year old male passenger not sustaining any major injuries.

Both lanes of the Bruce Hwy were closed and diversions via Yapala Rd were put in place while police conducted their investigation.

Queensland Fire and Rescue used the jaws of life to extricate the deceased driver from her vehicle.

It's believed neither vehicle was carrying passengers at the time of the accident.

SES crews helped divert traffic near the scene for vehicles travelling to and from Gladstone.

The Forensic Crash Unit will continue their investigations into the incident.

Gladstone Police reopened both lanes of the Bruce Hwy about 6pm last night.
