IT WAS a night to advance the profile of the Pine Valley Landowners' Association and its aim to build a Mueller College at Oakey Flat Rd.

The group with Mueller College as one of its landowners is trying to get its proposed development on the urban footprint (SEQ regional plan). The landowners bought 30-40 acre lots 10 years ago with the understanding it would be included in the footprint however they have been left out.

If they were able to subdivide the land that would help the enrolment capacity for the school.

Landowner Troy Beaven said the aim of the meeting at Narangba Valley Tavern was to launch a public awareness plan and to find out from local and state authorities just what was needed to get the project on the urban footprint and to address the many "overlays or development constraints" for the site.

Dr Bruce Flegg, Crs Chris Whiting (mayoral candidate) and Adrian Raedel, Mayor Allan Sutherland, LNP candidate Morayfield Darren Grimwade, Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan and local residents attended.

Other speakers were town planner Michael Lowe and Mueller College director Dr Vernon Heazlewood.

Mr Lowe said a submission for inclusion in the urban footprint would be lodged in a couple of weeks.

"We are also seeking support from the council for this submission and project," he said.

Mueller College's Dr Heazlewood said they bought the land in 2002 to build a school with plans to enrol about 300-400 students (Prep to Year12). The nearest school was at Rothwell.

Mr Ryan said the rationale behind the urban footprint plan was to manage growth for the region. Cr Raedel said he was part of the group which submitted the original plan.

"Council was directed to refuse it by the State Government in 2008,'' he said. Mayor Allan Sutherland said the government would want to know what and where the infrastructure was - such as shopping complexes, roads and schools.

"But I have to say the wheels turn slowly with government."
