Adam Leishman is standing for division 2.

SOME call him the "vocal local", many recognise him as a committed small business owner and most know him as the approachable and dependable man that he is.

There is no doubt the personal and professional life of Independent candidate Adam Leishman is strongly embedded in Division 2.

To Leishman, the decision to run for Division 2 Councillor in the upcoming Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Government election reflects his goal to "bring the needs of the community in line with the overall objectives of our Council".

"As a Division 2 parent, resident and small business owner of 18 years, I haven't just observed the challenges faced by others in my community, I've confronted them head-on alongside my peers," Leishman said.

"I can clearly see how the community needs to be assisted and uplifted by its Local Government and I am ready to represent Division 2 to make improvements for the now and for the future."

Leishman's passion for the area he lives in and loves is matched by his in-depth understanding of local council policies and processes.

Leishman's mother, Joy, was Mayor of the Caboolture Shire Council for eight years before council amalgamation in 2008.

Husband to Renae and a father of two, Leishman's strong work ethic and enthusiasm to represent his community is well known by those who surround him.
