BRISBANE City Council has approved a new luxury 30-storey apartment complex in South Brisbane called Brisbane 1 despite separate, stalled negotiations between state and local governments on the future mix and density of South Brisbane.
Chinese property developers R and F Properties on Thursday night unveiled their first project for Australia's property market, called Brisbane 1.
R and F Properties began in Guangzhou in China in 1994 and has developed extensive shopping malls and several five-star hotels in Guangzhou for the Ritz Carlton and Grand Hyatt franchise.
It has recently begun to expand into Malaysia and Australia, buying properties in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Brisbane 1 will sit on the crest of the hill on Cordelia Street where a large triangular block was recently cleared. It will be the tallest tower in South Brisbane's Kurilpa Peninsula, the developer claims.
