MACKAY police are seeking public assistance to help locate an 81-year-old man reported missing from a residence in Glenella today.

Ian Vance left the Wing Crescent home about 10am this morning and has failed to return, police said.

Police and family members are concerned for his well-being as he suffers from a medical condition and is unfamiliar with the local area.

The man is Caucasian, about 180cm tall with short grey hair, blue eyes and requires a walking aide.

He is believed to be travelling in a dark green 1996 Landrover Discovery four-wheel-drive.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
