A MAN has been tasered after breaking into a home and starting a fire on Captain Cook Parade in Deception Bay.

A next door neighbour said she witnessed police draw their taser and fire.

The man was seen breaking into people's cars prior to entering the house, the woman said.

Police were called to the street about 10.45am to reports of a break and enter.

The offender was taken to Redcliffe Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and injuries from a window, according to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson.

Witnesses said the man was thrown through a window after lighting the fire.

Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews attended, and brought the blaze under control within a matter of minutes, saving the house from any major structural damage.

No one else was injured.
