GRAB the family and get ready for an afternoon full of fun and entertainment.

Bribie Island State School is set to showcase an abundance of rides, dance, music, fashion and more as students and staff prepare for another biannual carnival.

Bribie Island State School P&C president Joanne Myers-Cave said the community carnival was expected to host about 50stalls, nine rides, bubble soccer and more.

"There will also be an all-abilities tent with art-based activities and a huge array of food options,” she said.

"We've got a decent entertainment schedule with a big band, dance, jiu-jitsu, knitters and Cr Savige will be judging our school's entry in the funky recycled fashion competition.”

Moreton Bay's most fashionable recycler is part of the regional recycler competition for 2017 with the theme 'rescued funky fashion'.

There is $4000 up for grabs in prizemoney and Bribie Island State School is set to strut the runway with its environmentally sustainable designs.

"We will have a fashion show with all the designs from our students and we will video it on the day to enter in the competition as a school entry,” she said.

"There are prizes for Year 1, 2 and 3.

"We will also have bubble soccer, a game where people get inside large clear plastic orb balls with their legs poking out and they play soccer that way.”

The Bribie Island State School Community Carnival is open to all members of the public and is free to enter.

Head along on Saturday, September 16, from 10am-4pm at the Bribie Island State School grounds, 31-63 First Ave, Bongaree.

Arm bands giving unlimited access to the rides can be purchased for $30 until Friday, September 15, or for $35 on the day.

For more information, phone the school on 34002333 or pop down and have a chat to one of the P&C members.
