GYMPIE detectives are investigating the death of a man in his 60s, whose body was found in a home in Bass St, Tin Can Bay.

Gympie CIB officer in charge Rob Lowry says the discovery of the man's body followed calls from neighbors concerned about the occupant.

A post mortem examination is expected to be conducted today, but results will not be immediately available.

He said the man appeared to have been dead for some days.

"We're treating it as suspicious until it is shown not to be," he said.

Meanwhile, police are still awaiting the results of toxicology analysis to help determine the cause of death of a woman found dead last Friday in a home in Alfred St, Gympie.
