Bonfire cancelled due to poor weather

The Wamuran BBQ and Bonfire Night has been cancelled after wet weather and further downpours predicted.

The event was supposed to feature local artists Jesse Davis, Ruby Gilbert and Mikara Grant-Freeman at the Wamuran Sports Complex tonight, but Moreton Bay Regional Council issued a statement saying a futher 15mm of rain could be on its way.

Division 12 councillor Adrian Raedel took to Facebook to assure people the event will take place at another date.

"Unfortunately tonight's BBQ and Bonfire night has been postponed due to weather... the grounds were inspected this morning (and given its currently raining) we've decided to postpone the event," he said.
