Driver over the limit after downing three tallies

A MOTORIST has been caught drink-driving after he downed three tallies before getting behind the wheel.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court this week, Jason Lance Puxty pleaded guilty to driving over the general alcohol limit.

The 26-year-old was stopped by police as he was travelling on Francis Rd in Redbank at 4pm on July 31.

Puxty told police he had just left the Commercial Hotel where he had consumed three tallies of Hahn premium beer during the past two hours.

He was given a breath test and recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.057.

Puxty was fined $500 and placed on a restricted licence for a month.
