UPDATE: A 43-year-old Dalby man was killed when the vehicle he was driving collided with a truck on the Warrego Hwy just west of Toowoomba.

The crash occurred 3km west of Jondaryan about 2.53am today.

The Warrego Hwy was closed in both directions for almost five hours.

It was reopened about 8.30am. 

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER: The Warrego Hwy west of Jondaryan remains closed this morning as the result of a fatal traffic crash.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said crews were called to the crash between a B Double truck and a car about 3km west of Jondaryan about 2.53am.

A man believed to be in his 40s died at the scene while another person was transported by ambulance to Oakey Hospital in a stable condition.

The highway remains closed in both directions, however, diversion routes are in place and motorists are asked to drive carefully.
