Police reopen highway after fatal crash at Fairney View

UPDATE 11AM: Police have reopened the Brisbane Valley Highway this morning following a fatal crash at Fairney View.

 

EARLIER: A 34-year-old Fernvale man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash on the Brisbane Valley Highway at Fairney View, at around 1am this morning.

Initial investigations suggest a utility was travelling southbound on the Brisbane Valley Highway when it collided with a power pole before catching fire.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Brisbane Valley Highway is currently closed with diversions in place via Glamorgan Road and Fernvale Road.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
