WATCH: Fight-night proposal proves a knock-out for one fan

TOOWOOMBA's Michael Katsidis had a tricks up his sleeve for North Queensland opponent Josh King while making successful return to the boxing ring at Rumours International last night.

But some wily fight tactics weren't the only surprise the former two-time world champion had to spring on the night as an appreciative audience and one "shocked" ring-side fan soon found out.

Moments after celebrating his impressive win over King, Katsidis invited his partner Annika van Dalen to join him in the ring.

After being handed a small black box by one of his supporters, Katsidis, still in his boxing gear and dripping with sweat, dropped to one knee and asked his partner to marry him.

An overcome van Dalen swiftly accepted Katsidis's well-planned proposal in front of a cheering crowd in what will go down as one of Australian boxing's most unusual fight aftermaths.
