Is Friday the 13th unlucky for you?

THINKING of applying for a job? Or are you looking to hire someone.

Well today may be your lucky day.

It seems Friday the 13th is the day people shun for applying for a job - or advertising for one.

So perhaps the competition among applicants might not be so strong today?

Or maybe, just maybe, your job advertisement may stand out better.

Glyn Brokensha, co-founder of Expr3ss!, said  the firm's data showed a 28 per cent slump in job applications on any given Friday the 13th.

"It's not just applicants who are cautious either, with advertising to job boards dropping by over 18 per cent when compared to a regular business day."

"While there is no proof that Friday the 13th is actually 'unlucky', it seems that Australians aren't taking any chances."

Expr3ss! data pulled from over 1.65 million applicants, for every Friday 13th since 2011.

Expr3ss! are a recruitment software company who focus on ensuring applicants are the right company culture fit.
