A GHOST hunting group in Toowoomba has published a 'creepy' historic photo which allegedly shows a ghost.

Toowoomba Ghost Chasers said the photo hangs on a wall in Toowoomba school Downlands College.

The image is yearbook photo showing a class of boys.

A close-up shows a blurred white figure between two classmates.

Mariella van Spronsen said the "ghost" was wearing the same outfit as his schoolmates.

"I guess someone moved and the picture turned out like this," she said.

She said it was indeed a creepy photo.

"Some faces are strange and it looks like and black and white photo among coloured ones."

Kristen Stahlhut Coggan said the school was used by the military during the war.

"Lots of ghost stories," she said.

Leesa Brignall said the school was a scary place to be at night time.
