Kate Ceberano under fire for 'fluffing' national anthem

AUSTRALIAN singer Kate Ceberano has come under fire for forgetting the lyrics to the Australian national anthem during the AFL grand final today.

The singer was belting out Advance Australia Fair at the MCG for the Hawthorn and West Coast game when she stumbled on the seventh line.

It's the second time the singer has performed for a grand final as she sang in the lead-up to the 2002 Brisbane Lions-Collingwood clash.

"It's such an honour and privilege to be asked to perform, I'm truly thrilled," she said beforehand.

The slip-up has caused a stir online with some mocking her mistake, while others have defended the musician.

The stumble is trending on Twitter.
