Man behind makeshift shooting range in court

A ROCKHAMPTON man who police caught hosting "a shoot" at a makeshift shooting range at his The Caves property pleaded guilty to two weapons charges in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.  

Jason Donald Hamilton, 45, was charged with one count each of possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing an unlawful weapon after police attended his home on February 14.  

Hamilton told police he found the illegal weapon on the side of the road.  

He was fined $1000 with no convictions recorded
