Man charged after series of car theft and burglary offences

A 23-year-old man has been charged with burglary and vehicle stealing offences after a series of incidents on the Sunshine Coast earlier this month.

It will be alleged a vehicle was stolen from the Brisbane Airport on September 7 before it was used to attend two separate homes in Nambour where firearms and power tools were stolen on September 9.

A second vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Peregian Beach address on September 22.

Police made a public appeal to locate a 23-year-old man in relation to the offences and was subsequently arrested by the dog squad at Deception Bay early yesterday morning.

He was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of stealing, trespass and burglary.

He is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday.
