Man discovers stab wound after his home was invaded

A MAN has been taken to hospital following an assault that occurred earlier this morning in East Brisbane.

Initial information suggests that the man was woken in his apartment on Fisher Street around 2am when two men entered the residence.

One of the men punched the man, and after they both fled the scene, the man discovered an apparent stab wound on his back.

The 24-year-old man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The two men fled the scene and investigations into the assault are continuing.
