Man struck by cane train after vehicle stopped on crossing

POLICE are investigating a serious rail incident which occurred in Sarina earlier today.

Initial investigations indicate at around 9.30am, a 21-year-old man was pushing his motorcycle across a rail bridge when he was struck by a cane train.

The impact caused the man to fall 10 metres to the ground.

He was transported to the Mackay Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
