Mountain bike rider with possible spinal injury airlifted

THE Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue team has airlifted a mountain bike rider with suspected spinal injuries from Wyaralong Dam this afternoon.

The man in his 40s from the Brisbane area had been riding in the region located north-west of Beaudesert when he fell from his bike.

The man was treated at the scene by CareFlight medical staff and flown to Archerfield airport.

He was then transferred by Queensland Ambulance Service to the Princess Alexandra Hospital via road.

The man travelled in a stable condition.
