Point Vernon gunman still on loose one week later

POLICE are still searching for a man who shot a 22-year-old in the hand at a Martin St, Point Vernon home last Thursday.

The man is described as Caucasian with tanned skin and in his 20s.

It is understood the victim has not been co-operative with police.

The man stormed the 22-year-old's home about 5pm on Thursday last week and demanded cash.

The victim grabbed the muzzle of the firearm and during the struggle the gun went off.

He underwent hand surgery last week to remove fragments from his hand.
