Police charge 16-year-old for attack on elderly man

Detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy following investigations into the serious assault of an 80-year-old man at Redcliffe on Wednesday.

It is alleged around 1.30pm a group of youths approached the man on Oxley Avenue before one of them assaulted him.

The man fell to the ground and struck his head on the roadway.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with head and facial injuries.

A 16-year-old Kippa Ring boy was charged overnight with one count of grievous bodily harm.
