POLICE are appealing for witnesses following the death of a water skier after a fall on the Clarence River on Labour Day long weekend.
About 10.15am (Sunday 4 October 2015), a 27-year-old man was participating in an annual water skier event, when he fell whilst skiing and was seriously injured.
The man was assisted by a number of witnesses and was taken to Grafton Base Hospital, where he later died.
Officers from Coffs-Clarence Local Area Command and the Marine Area Command commenced an investigation.
Inquiries have led police to believe that people from NSW and across Australia who attended the event, may have witnessed and video recorded the incident.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed or has footage of the incident, that have not yet spoken to police to contact the Marine Area Command on 02 9320 7499.
