Staff threatened during store robbery

A MAN has been charged following investigations into the robbery of an Oonoonba convenience store on Saturday morning.

It will be alleged around 8.55am a man entered the Abbott Street business, threatening two employees, a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, before stealing cash from the tills and running from the store.

A 34-year-old Oonoonba man has been charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

He is expected to appear at the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
