Suspicious device found in home damaged by fire

SPECIALIST bomb squad police are on scene at a house in Redcliffe where a "device" has been found following a fire.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to the Klingner Driver home at 6.35am after reports the house was well alight.

A spokesman said the house was "well involved", with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze before conducting a search of its interior.

Nobody was found inside, but firefighters discovered a "device" and specialist police were called in to investigate.
