Thief escapes after Palm Beach store robbed at gunpoint

POLICE are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Palm Beach in the early hours of this morning.

Around 12.15am a man has entered the Gold Coast Highway business and produced a handgun while making demands for money and property from the male employee.

He obtained cash and cigarettes before fleeing the store.

There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery.

No one was injured during the incident.

During the robbery the man had his jacket pulled over his head.

The offender is described as being aged in his early 20's, Caucasion, approximately 180 cm tall with a slim build.
