Tough day for Queensland Bulls paceman Mark Steketee

WARWICK paceman Mark Steketee and his Queensland Bulls teammates have gone down by nine wickets to Victoria in the first round of the Sheffield Shield competition.

Victoria needed 228 to win and only lost one wicket on Saturday at the MCG.

Batsman Travis Dean became the first shield debutant to score a century in each innings as he led the way for Victoria.

Steketee has 0-8 off three overs in the Victorian second innings of 0-38 overnight Friday before finishing with 0-49 for the second innings on Saturday.

He was economical in the first innings with 0-56 off 18 overs.

A week earlier, Steketee took one wicket playing in the Prime Minister's XI against New Zealand.
