THE floodgate on complaints about fast-food restaurants in Toowoomba has been opened, with residents fuming about terrible customer service and unclean toilets.
The Chronicle reported on Sunday that a McDonald's customer received a Big Mac that was completely out of order.
Where there should have been the pickle topping on cheese was bread on bread and an odd mix of all other ingredients below what should have been the middle bread layer.
Since then a number of complaints about fast-food service in the Garden City have emerged.
Highfields resident Akalia McFadden embarked on an angry rant to the KFC Facebook page complaining of her negative experience at KFC in Wilsonton.
She arrived to the drive-through about 11.30pm on Sunday and said a man in a Hilux verbally abused her mother and "flipped her the bird" because he believed he should have been in front.
Ms McFadden also complained about the service she received from staff who she said "seemed completely inconvenienced by our presence".
She said the "final icing on the cake" was when she collected a meal and had to wait for something she had ordered 14 minutes ago.
KFC responded by saying the company was "sorry to see you have had this disappointing experience with us recently".
The spokesman urged Ms McFadden to contact the store for further feedback.
McDonald's was also in the firing line.
Lindsay Adams said he went to McDonald's at Margaret St and was shocked to find it in a "disgustingly filthy state".
"I spoke to the manager who said he would have it looked at. Obviously that's all that they did was look, because after two hours over coffee I went back to the loo before leaving and nothing had been done.
"I can only hope their kitchen is kept cleaner than their toilets," he said.
