A LENGTHY U-turn by a bendy bus in South Brisbane on Saturday night left a bus driver flustered, and highlighted the need for more kerb space in one of Brisbane's biggest tourist areas.

The Brisbane Bus Lines driver took more than 15 minutes to turn around his 77-person bendy-bus, also known as an articulated bus, on Russell Street, next to the ABC building and QPAC.

The incident occurred at about 10.45pm, with the time-lapse footage, filmed by a bystander, showing a crowd standing by watching the awkward turn, with some attempting to try to help.
