Moreton Bay Regional Council is encouraging residents to prepare for rainfall forecast for South East Queensland.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said from early tomorrow morning into the evening, moderate falls between 50 to 75mm were likely for coastal areas of the region while falls between 20 to 40mm were likely for inland areas.

"You can monitor any local impacts by keeping an eye on the Bureau of Meteorology's website for the latest weather warnings, radar images and rainfall gauges," he said.

"There may be a possibility of heavier isolated falls in the region, so make sure you, your family and your home are prepared, and in the event of severe weather, stay indoors and please limit all non-essential travel on the road.

"Council continues to work with the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) and local emergency services to monitor the predicted wet weather.

"Roads and drainage crews will be on standby to monitor and respond to any potential impacts."
