Woman charged over stabbing second woman during fight

A WOMAN has been charged over the stabbing of a second woman in north Queensland overnight.

Police believe at 8.45pm, two women began fighting in on Derby St in the Townsville suburb of Pimlico.

During the altercation, one woman was stabbed in the arm.

Police took a 37-year-old Pimlico woman into custody at the scene.

She been charged with wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.

A 39-year-old was transported to Townsville Base Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
